PetFamFolio Privacy Policy

PetFamFolio respects the privacy of our customers. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you visit PetFamFolio.com, create an account, purchase a subscription, and use PetFamFolio's services.

1. About PetFamFolio

PetFamFolio provides customers with a private online space to create, maintain, and reference information about their pets.

Customers may use their accounts to maintain pet-related information such as pet names, photographs, breeds, birth dates, adoption dates, measurements, veterinary information, vaccination information, medications, allergies or special needs, microchip information, feeding information, emergency contacts, and other information the customer chooses to enter.

This information is provided and maintained by the customer for the customer's own reference.

2. Information Customers Add to PetFamFolio

Customers decide what pet-related information they enter into their PetFamFolio accounts.

PetFamFolio does not use customer-entered pet-profile information for advertising, marketing, data profiling, or the sale of customer information.

Customers are responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of the information they enter into their accounts.

Because certain pet-profile fields may contain information about other people, such as an emergency contact or veterinarian, customers should only enter information they are authorized to provide.

3. Account and Transaction Information

Certain information may be collected or processed when a customer creates an account, purchases or maintains a subscription, or otherwise uses the website. This may include:

  • Name and email address

  • Account and login information

  • Subscription and transaction information

  • Billing information

  • Customer location or transaction location

  • Technical information necessary to operate and secure the website

PetFamFolio may use transaction and customer-location information when reasonably necessary for accounting, recordkeeping, fraud prevention, customer service, determining sales-tax obligations, complying with tax requirements, and satisfying other legal obligations.

4. Wix Hosting and Checkout

PetFamFolio.com is hosted on the Wix platform and uses Wix services for website functionality, customer accounts, subscriptions, and checkout/payment functionality.

As a result, information necessary to operate these services may be collected, stored, transmitted, or otherwise processed by Wix and its authorized payment processors and service providers.

Payment information submitted through Wix Checkout is handled through Wix's payment infrastructure and applicable payment processors. PetFamFolio does not require customers to send their payment-card information directly to PetFamFolio by email or through their pet profiles.

Wix's handling of information is governed by Wix's applicable privacy policies and terms.

5. How PetFamFolio Uses Information

PetFamFolio limits its use of customer information to purposes reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide and maintain the PetFamFolio service;

  • Maintain customer accounts and subscriptions;

  • Provide customer support when requested;

  • Process and document subscription transactions;

  • Maintain appropriate business and accounting records;

  • Determine sales-tax obligations based on customer and transaction activity;

  • Comply with applicable tax, accounting, legal, regulatory, or governmental requirements;

  • Protect the website, customers, and service from misuse, fraud, or security threats; and

  • Enforce PetFamFolio's Terms of Service.

PetFamFolio does not use customer-entered pet-profile information for advertising or marketing.

6. Selling or Sharing Customer Information

PetFamFolio does not sell or rent customers' personal information.

PetFamFolio does not voluntarily provide customers' private pet-profile information to third parties for their independent advertising or marketing purposes.

Information may nevertheless be processed or disclosed when necessary for Wix and its authorized providers to operate the website, customer accounts, subscriptions, checkout, payments, security, and related services.

Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, legal process, tax requirements, court orders, governmental requests, fraud prevention requirements, or other legal obligations.

7. Customer Control and Deletion

Customers control the information they choose to enter into their PetFamFolio pet profiles.

Customers may update or delete information available through the account-management features provided on the website.

Customers are responsible for deleting information they no longer want maintained in their PetFamFolio account.

Certain account, subscription, transaction, tax, security, or business records may need to be retained even after customer-entered pet-profile information has been deleted when retention is necessary to comply with legal, accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, or other legitimate business requirements.

8. Cookies and Website Technologies

PetFamFolio does not currently use customer information collected through cookies for its own targeted advertising purposes.

However, because PetFamFolio operates on the Wix platform, Wix may use cookies or similar technologies that are necessary for website functionality, security, member accounts, checkout, payments, and other Wix services.

Additional cookies or technologies may become applicable if website features are changed or additional services are enabled.

9. Private Accounts

PetFamFolio is designed to provide customers with a private area for maintaining their pet information.

Customers are responsible for protecting their account credentials and should not disclose their passwords to unauthorized persons.

No Internet-based service can guarantee absolute security. Customers should therefore use reasonable care when deciding what information to store online.

10. Prohibited Content

PetFamFolio is intended for legitimate pet-related information and records.

Customers may not use PetFamFolio to upload, store, transmit, or maintain pornographic or sexually explicit photographs, images, text, or other content, even when the customer's account or page is private.

Additional restrictions on customer content are described in the PetFamFolio Terms of Service.

11. Children's Privacy

PetFamFolio is not intended to be used independently by children under 13.

PetFamFolio does not knowingly solicit personal information directly from children under 13. A parent or legal guardian should manage any PetFamFolio account used for a family pet when a child is involved.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

PetFamFolio may update this Privacy Policy when its services, website features, legal obligations, or privacy practices change.

When this Privacy Policy is updated, the revised version will be posted on PetFamFolio.com with an updated effective date.
